This website is the personal website of Jiyu Yan. It is used to publish professional information, projects, technical writing, and selected essays.
I try to keep data collection minimal. This page explains what information may be processed when you visit yanjiyu.com, contact me, or use interactive features such as comments.
Information This Site May Process
Information You Provide
If you contact me by email, through a contact form, or through a linked social or professional profile, I may receive the information you choose to send. This can include your name, email address, message content, and any professional details you include.
I use that information only to read, respond to, and manage the conversation.
Technical Information
When you visit the site, standard technical information may be processed by the hosting provider and related infrastructure. This can include your IP address, browser type, device information, pages requested, referring page, and request time.
This information is used for normal website delivery, security, debugging, abuse prevention, and reliability.
Comments
Some posts may include comments powered by Giscus, which uses GitHub Discussions. If you choose to comment, GitHub may process your GitHub account information, comment content, reactions, and related metadata under GitHub’s own privacy terms.
You do not need to comment to read the site.
Cookies And Local Storage
This site may store a small local preference in your browser, such as your light or dark theme choice. This is stored locally on your device and is used only to keep the site looking the way you selected.
The site does not currently use advertising cookies or targeted advertising trackers. Third-party services, such as GitHub/Giscus or embedded external links you choose to open, may use their own cookies or storage.

Google Tag Manager is not currently enabled on this site. If analytics are added later, this policy should be updated to describe what is collected and why.

I do not sell personal information.

Comments remain visible according to GitHub/Giscus settings unless deleted by the commenter, repository maintainers, or GitHub.

- contact me to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you have sent directly to me;
- manage GitHub/Giscus comment data through your GitHub account and GitHub’s privacy controls.
